1. What will happen to Ethan?
In the Season 1 finale of "Extant," Ethan sacrificed himself for Molly' sake. His body may have been destroyed but his programming was able to survive. Season 2 will show viewers if Ethan will get a new body or his old body will be recreated.
2. How will the government explain what happened to Molly?
After Molly destroys the alien force that threatened earth and mankind, the government must find a way to explain things to the public. Will they choose to tell the entire truth?
3. What's next for Julie?
Just because Ethan's body is gone doesn't mean that Julie is over her interest and obsession about the robot boy she helped create. Season 2 might show her tinkering with Ethan's programming to fix what went wrong in the past.
4. What does Jeffrey Dean Morgan's new character bring to the table?
It would be interesting to see Morgan's character, J.D. Richter, who is a cop and a womanizer, interact with Berry's character, Molly Woods. Molly has been surrounded so far by scientists and people from the government trying to cover up what happened to her. Richter's reaction to the shocking discoveries that he will stumble upon will also be something to watch out for.
5. What about the Offspring still on Earth?
In Season 1, the Offspring hitched a ride with a new family. Season 2 might show viewers what happened to him, where he actually went and what will he turn into.
6. Who can Molly trust?
It's getting harder and harder for Molly to trust people in her world. But she needs some new allies.
7. What new technology does the future have in store?
"Extant" Season 1 introduced some cool futuristic technology including bathroom mirror displays that enable users to not only see their reflection, but also check the traffic, weather and one's schedule for the day. Plus, tablets have transparent displays and there are self-driving cars.
