Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Wife Priscilla Chan Welcoming Second Daughter Soon
Mark Zuckerberg proudly revealed on his multi-billion social networking service that he and wife Priscilla Chan are once again expecting a baby. The Facebook CEO announced the good news with a happy heart knowing how much they’d struggled in the past just to conceive their first daughter, Maxima.
In a post he shared publicly a few hours ago, Zuckerberg happily disclosed that they are welcoming another baby girl soon. “Priscilla and I are happy to share we’re expecting another baby girl,” the 32-year-old entrepreneur wrote. “After our difficult experience having Max, we weren’t sure what to expect or whether we’d be able to have another child.”
Zuckerberg admitted that when he found out Chan is pregnant with baby no. 2, he initially hoped for a healthy baby girl. “I cannot think of a greater gift than having a sister and I’m so happy Max and our new child will have each other.”
Revealing more on why he wants a second daughter, the renowned computer programmer confessed that this has something to do with how he and his wife grew up with the company of loving female siblings.
“I grew up with three sisters and they taught me to learn from smart, strong women … They showed me how to compete and still laugh together afterwards,” he pointed out in his Facebook post. “Priscilla grew up with two sisters and they taught her the importance of family, caring for others and hard work. They supported each other as first generation college students and in their careers in medicine and business.”
In the end, Zuckerberg paid tribute to all the women in the world, perhaps because, in part, his announcement comes a day after the International Women’s Day celebration. “We are all better people because of the strong women in our lives -- sisters, mothers and friends. We can't wait to welcome our new little one and do our best to raise another strong woman.”
Mark and Priscilla welcomed their first daughter in December 2015. Following Max’s birth, the happy parents announced the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative that mainly ams to give away 99 percent of their wealth for several projects. According to Business Insider. the couple has already made investments in education and scientific research because of this philanthropic initiative.
