‘The Fall’ Season 3 Spoilers: Jamie Dornan’s Dad Jim Lands Guest-Starring Role As John Porter

“The Fall” Season 3, episode 2 will see Jamie Dornan’s dad, Professor Jim Dornan, portraying the role of John Porter.

In his one and only scene, John interviews Assistant Chief Constable Jim Burns (John Lynch) regarding the recent developments in the case of the Belfast strangler, The Belfast Telegraph reported.

Jim’s role required him to utter only one line, which he admittedly had a hard time doing. “Can the Assistant Chief Constable please provide us with an update on the progress of the Operation Music Man taskforce?” he says in the preview of Thursday's episode of the BBC series.

While speaking with Sunday Life, Jim revealed that he had to repeat the same line over and over again before he was able to satisfy director Allan Cubitt. Fortunately, Jim received the support of his co-star, Lynch. “He was very helpful. He had kind words when I got it right and smiled sweetly when I got it wrong. I really enjoyed it and it was a very interesting morning. I would say it was awe-inspiring,” he said of the actor.

Jim also shared that his son didn’t know that he would be starring in “The Fall” Season 3, episode 2. “Jamie had finished filming and he had no idea I was going to be in it. It came as a real surprise to him when he found out,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jim’s appearance in “The Fall” will be his only cameo appearance in his son’s projects, at least for now. Dornan will be starring in two upcoming movies in the “Fifty Shades” franchise: “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed.” In the movies, the actor plays the role of Christian Grey, who is in a relationship with Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson).

Dornan and Johnson have developed such a close friendship that there have been ongoing rumors that they are having an affair in real life. However, Dornan once again debunked the speculations by telling Marie Claire that he’s madly in love with his wife, Amelia Warner.
