Fall TV Premiere Dates 2017: ‘Scandal,’ ‘Van Helsing’ Start Thursday, Oct. 5
Fall TV shows will continue to premiere Thursday night, but it seems like some of the networks are starting to get into the spirit of Halloween!
“Scandal” is the biggest premiere of the night. Joining “Grey’s Anatomy” and “How To Get Away With Murder,” Shonda Rhimes’ TGIT lineup is now complete. The Season 7 premiere will pick up with Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) after the first 100 days of Mellie’s (Bellamy Young) presidency. Olivia has been successful so far, but she’ll have to make one of her most difficult decisions yet to avoid an international incident. Meanwhile, Quinn Perkins & Associates are getting off to rough start. They have yet to land their first client.
Elsewhere, Halloween season is officially starting. On Syfy, “Van Helsing” Season 2 will continue to show the descendant of the Van Helsing bloodline fighting in a post-apocalyptic world that’s controlled by vampires. Vanessa (Kelly Overton) learning that some alliances aren’t as strong as she thought. “New connections expose long-buried secrets about The Rising, the Van Helsing heritage and the survival of humankind itself,” the synopsis teases.
Syfy will continue the creepy premieres with “Ghost Wars.” The new drama shows a remote Alaskan town that becomes overtaken by paranormal forces. Outcast Roman Mercer (Avan Jogia) must stop suppressing his psychic powers and battle forces of evil to save the town. Vincent D’Onofrio (“Daredevil”), Kim Coates (“Sons of Anarchy”), Kandyse McClure (“Battlestar Galactica”), Kristin Lehman (“Motive”) and Meatloaf (“Fight Club”) also star.
Sundance is joining in on the creepy programming too. British miniseries “Rillington Place” will premiere Thursday night as well. The three-part drama follows the real life story of serial killer John Christie in the 1940s and 1950s. Tim Roth and Samantha Morton star.
For something a little lighter, “SuperMansion” returns to Crackle for a Halloween-themed special. The stop-motion animated program will show the League of Freedom’s holiday shenanigans in “SuperMansion: Drag Me to Halloween.” Unfortunately, Titanium Rex (voiced by Bryan Cranston) hates Oct. 31.
On Netflix, a Swedish dramedy series will premiere. “Bonus Family” is about two divorcees with children getting married and navigating life with their exes, stepchildren and more.
As always, reality fans have something to look forward to as well. “Real Estate Wars” is a new Bravo reality series follows two rival real estate agencies in Orange County, California.
