Fans React To Mama June's Ex Geno Doak's Surprise Instagram Update: 'Looking Healthy'

Mama June Shannon's ex-boyfriend Geno Doak has ended his hiatus on social media, and fans are loving his latest life update.

On Thursday, the former reality star took to Instagram to share a photo showing him posing in front of a camera while standing inside what appeared to be a new house.

"What's up everybody?" he captioned the snap that also showed him flashing a big smile.

Doak's post was quickly met with a flurry of positive messages as many fans expressed joy to see him healthy and doing well.

"You look so happy and full of life @doakgeno!!!" one wrote.

"Keep doing what you've been doing, looking fresh and healthy," another added.

"Looking good and healthy, Geno. Keep up the good work," a third user commented.

Mama June and Geno dated for nearly six years before calling it quits last year. Their breakup was featured in an episode of "Mama June: Road to Redemption" Season 6 in May this year.

Before they split, the former couple made headlines for different scandals, including Mama June's abandonment issue when she decided to run away with Geno and leave behind her daughters, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon and Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, in early 2019.

The two also got arrested at an Alabama gas station in March 2019 over a domestic violence report and crack cocaine possession. While Mama June managed to dodge a jail sentence, Doak was handed a 16-month sentence in August 2021.

But even before serving time, Mama June had already confirmed on social media that they had called it quits. In a live chat with her fans, she said, "Listen, Geno is not in the f---in' picture [anymore]."

Mama June has since moved on from their breakup and even tied the knot with tattoo artist Justin Stroud at a courthouse ceremony in Georgia in March.

Meanwhile, it wasn't clear if Doak started seeing anyone after Mama June. Before he took a hiatus from social media, he showed off his physical transformation by posting a snap of him looking thinner and healthier than the last time fans saw him on the reality show.

Many praised Geno for managing to turn his life around after he struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. Several also lauded him for getting sober and looking healthier and happier after splitting from Mama June.
