Fergie, Josh Duhamel Announce Split; Exes Separated After Celebrating 8th Wedding Anniversary

Another celebrity couple has shockingly announced their breakup following Anna Faris and Chris Pratt's split. Fergie and Josh Duhamel are parting ways.

On Thursday, Fergie, 42, and Duhamel, 44, said in a statement that they are separating after eight years of marriage. "With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year," Fergie and Duhamel wrote in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. "To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family."

The publication noted that the two actually split in February, just a month after they celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary. Back in January, Duhamel shared a family photo on Instagram to mark another year of marriage with Fergie. In the photo, the couple is with their 4-year-old son, Axl Jack, and the trio looked happy. "8 years!! Love you babe," the "Safe Haven" star wrote in the caption.

Duhamel and Fergie made their last public appearance together in August 2016 during the premiere of "Spaceman."

The pair's split did not come as a complete surprise to some as Fergie and Duhamel are constantly busy with work. However, they did try to make their marriage work and focus on their son. "Their schedules were so busy that it was almost a surprise when you would see them together," an insider told the publication. "But Axl was always on their mind no matter what they were doing. They really had a good dynamic together. They're both kind, nice, good people."

Just last week, Fergie shut down rumors that she and Duhamel are expecting baby No. 2. According to the "Glamorous" songstress, she heard rumors suggesting that they are trying for another baby. However, Duhamel's ex-wife is focusing on her upcoming album "Double Duchess" rather than a second child at the moment.

"It's like I'm birthing a different kind of baby," Fergie said (via Us Weekly). "I feel like I'm birthing this thing out. It didn't come from my belly, but it came from my soul."

During the same interview, Fergie revealed that she keeps her marriage fresh by being fun and playful. In fact, she has an Axl-safe costume closet for her son and another that's "locked that's a little bit more mature."
