'FIFA 15' Release Date Arrives For PS4, Xbox One And More: Demo Reaches 5.5M Downloads
Soccer game “FIFA 15” has launched for the PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and iOS in North America, and if the number of demo downloads are any indication, the title may sell pretty well across a number of platforms.
Beginning Tuesday, more than 5.5 million players downloaded the “FIFA 15” demo on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, PS3 or PS4. The demo is still available to download, so more players could still access it.
"We believe we have built a game in ‘FIFA 15’ that delivers the most immersive and responsive gameplay experience ever in the ‘FIFA’ franchise, and we can't wait for the millions of fans to start their season and experience all of the innovations," EA Sports executive David Rutter said in a statement.
Electronic Arts, Inc. released the demo on Sept. 9. The demo featured three new teams – Chelsea, Liverpool and Napoli, alongside the game’s demo teams – Borussia Dortmund, FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Boca Juniors and Paris Saint-Germain.
EA is also working on Wii, 3DS and PlayStation Vita versions of the title.
The game will launch tomorrow in Europe and on Friday in the U.K..
This year’s version of FIFA 15’s Ultimate Team feature allows users to sign loan players for a limited duration of matches. There is also a new feature called the Concept Squad, where users have access to the game’s database and can create a dream squad.
