Fifth iPhone 12 Model Leaked, Could Reportedly Arrive In 2021

The full iPhone lineup for 2021 recently leaked online mentions a fifth iPhone 12 model. Apple has not yet announced the launch window of its flagship iPhone series. Earlier, the company confirmed that the upcoming iPhone lineup might not launch as scheduled.

Reliable industry insider Komiya recently shared on Twitter a new set of interesting information about the iPhone lineup for 2021. The tipster mentioned the iPhone 12s model that could arrive next year. Considering that the insider's information covers the Fall of 2021, it could mean that the iPhone 12s could be a yearly upgrade.

Based on its release pattern, Apple launches the iPhone's S model a year after the flagship iPhone's launch. It somehow became the modest upgrade in an almost similar shell. The Cupertino company, however, stopped releasing the S model after the iPhone Xs.

It is also possible that the iPhone 12s could be an intermediary model, as per Tom's Guide. Apple could ship the said model with the core features of the iPhone 12, but at a much affordable price, the site speculated. The iPhone 12s could retail at a much lower price but not below the iPhone SE's price, the site said.

Other rumors claim that the iPhone 12s would be the 4G-only iPhone 12 model. It is anticipated that all four iPhone 12 models would ship with 5G support. So, a model that supports 4G-only connectivity with all the features of the iPhone 12 is not at all bad.

Meanwhile, Fast Company reported that its source claimed that a new 4G iPhone 12 with a much lower price could arrive next Spring. It is possible that the site's report and the rumor surrounding the iPhone 12s could be referring to the same model. Interestingly, the publication said that the 4G-only iPhone would serve as the replacement of the 2020 iPhone SE.

Nothing is official yet about this alleged iPhone 12s or 4G-only iPhone 12 model. In this case, we suggest taking this information with a good measure of skepticism.
