A Filipino crew member aboard the cruise ship “Celebrity Equinox” has been arrested for allegedly raping a colleague when the ship was on its way to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

According to the affidavit filed by an FBI agent, Louie Ison Mangampat faces charges of aggravated sexual abuse and use of force. The victim has not been named in the report.

According to cruise news, the booked cruise worker was a sushi chef in the cruise ship owned by Celebrity Cruises.

The court documents said the hentai rape like incident happened on September 25, when Mangampat was with some co-workers in a crew cabin after the shift.

During that time, Mangampat allegedly forced a female crew member into the bathroom, locked the door and raped her. The report said he mounted his advances on the victim by “groping the woman despite her active resistance.”

She somehow managed to wriggle out of the bathroom and reported the matter to the ship’s security officers. Later her medical check-up recorded the presence of blood and internal injuries borne by the sexual assault.

However, Mangampat insisted the sex was consensual. According to celebrity news, the cruise ship handed the raped accused to U.S. Virgin Islands officials in St. Thomas.

Military cruise deals

Meanwhile, during the Veterans Day, many cruise lines offered discounts to veterans and members of the armed services labeled as military cruise offers. The perks included discounts, special rates, and onboard credits on the ship.

Military cruise deals are generally offered in May and November for Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

However, some cruise companies including Carnival Cruises have a year-long discount scheme for veterans. They will offer 20 percent off from notified brochure rates for guests with military time.

Celebrity Cruises also offers special military cruise packages on select sailings. The military cruise offers can be accessed by serving, retired and reserve personnel within the United States military, U.S. Coast Guard, National Guard and uniformed members of the U.S. Public Health Services, and all veterans. Members of the Canadian National Defense are also eligible to receive discounts under military cruises.
