A Reddit user named ghibik shared some links and images from 4chan. These links and images talk about a new IP from Square Enix and some details about “Final Fantasy XVI.” The leak reveals that these two upcoming games would be announced at a gaming event happening this summer.
While the leak does not say any specific gaming event but it could be in one of the upcoming PS5 events. According to a post in 4chan, these details came from an insider with close ties to Square Enix. It is also interesting to take note of some of the comments in the thread on the possible features of “Final Fantasy XVI.”
It mentions that the upcoming fantasy title might take place in a new fantasy-based world with some steampunk elements. Naoki Yoshida would act as the director of “Final Fantasy XVI,” according to the post. Additionally, it says that the director would integrate some combat inspiration from “Dark Souls” and “Final Fantasy XV.

He added that he does not think the next “FF” installment would be an MMO.
