‘Final Fantasy XV’ Patch 1.05 Ends Moogle Carnival, Comes With PS4 Pro Resolution Options Of 30FPS, 60FPS
“Final Fantasy XV” patch 1.05, which was slated for release on Feb. 21, arrived two days earlier than expected. Despite the early release, players can still look forward to what Square Enix has planned for Tuesday.
Just this past Saturday, the new patch for the open-world action role-playing video game arrived, and it came with new resolution options for the PlayStation 4 Pro console. These options are Lite and High; the former is used to run games at 60FPS (with framedrops), while the latter is to run them at 30FPS (with framedrops).
According to Eurogamer, patch 1.05 also comes with new in-game features, such as the Time Quests. One quest tasks players to fight 100 Cactuars and Slactuars. Accomplishing this will guarantee one with hefty EXP, AP and gil rewards.
Square Enix also increased the Level cap through this update. Now the limit is from 99 to 120. Alongside this boost in Level cap is the higher EXP requirement to level up. From now on players who want to jump to 100 from 99 will be required to have 1 million EXP — a big difference compared to the 300K EXP needed to jump to 99 from 98, as pointed out by Reddit user rynoweiss.
Another modification with this update is the bigger Camera Roll capacity. Players are now allowed to store up to 200 photos, which will come handy to Noct who can already take snaps anywhere.
A portable music player has been added for the Chocobo rides. Unfortunately, the “Final Fantasy XV” also marks the end of the Moogle Chocobo Carnival — the special in-game event that started on Jan. 24.
Gematsu reported that aside from the various bug fixes that are part of the new patch, two new tracks from “NieR: Automata” are also introduced to the in-game radio. The tracks were not mentioned in the patch notes, but a press release revealed that they are “Inishie no Uta/Unmei” and “Weight of the World.”
Meanwhile, although Square Enix has already outed the 2.1 GB patch, players should still anticipate for the things the developer will be releasing on Tuesday. As previously revealed by the company, the Booster Pack+ add-on that comes with the Boost Sword weapon, Dragon Mod fishing rod and Aviol eel will arrive on the said day.
