FIRST HALF REVIEW: Marseille and Manchester United are Scoreless
Sir Alex Ferguson's side hasn't been able to muster many quality chances to score, as Marseille and Manchester United play to a scoreless half at Stade Velodrome.
In what has been a rather uneventful half, Marseille had a few decent chances to score but failed to legitimately test Edwin Van der Sar. In the 41st minute, Andre Ayew delivered a corner kick that almost swerved into the net, but Van der Sar was there to make the save.
Brandao tried a bicycle kick that had no pace on it, and was no problem for Van der Sar.
In the 43rd minute, Charles Kabore made a running right-footed shot, but it was nowhere near the goal.
Inside the first 10 minutes, Steve Mandanda saved a quality shot on goal by midfielder Darren Fletcher.
Mathieu Valbuena was questionable for the match, and remains on the bench.
There were no yellow cards in the match.
