‘The Flash’: Ralph Faces Off Against The Trickster In New Set Photos
The Trickster is making a comeback in an upcoming Season 4 episode of “The Flash.”
Devon Graye, who made his first appearance as Axel Walker in Season 1, episode 17 of the CW series, was spotted filming a scene with Hartley Sawyer on Tuesday near David Lam Park in Vancouver, Canada.
As seen in the set photos published by YVR Shoots, it appears that Graye and Sawyer were filming a fight scene. And it seems that Axel is getting the better of Sawyer’s Ralph Dibny, as there’s some sort of explosive residue seen on the latter’s superhero suit.
In Season 1, episode 17, it was revealed that Axel had been communicating with the imprisoned original Trickster, James Jesse (Mark Hamill). Unaware of the fact that he is his father, Alex grew close to James. And in 2015, Axel introduced himself to the world as the new version of Trickster. Axel sent parachute bombs over a park in Central City, but thanks to The Flash (Grant Gustin), no one was harmed.
Axel then announced on a blog post that he would stage a bigger attack, saying that the people of Central City “deserved something much bigger.” Axel then made the public believe that he had hidden a giant bomb to destroy the city. But in reality, it was nothing but an effort to distract the police and the Scarlet Speedster while he help James escape prison.
After their escape plan worked, James revealed that he let Axel take up the mantle of the Trickster because he is his son. That night, the father and son headed to an event held by Mayor Anthony Bellows (Vito D’Ambrosio) and poisoned all of the guests by pretending as waiters. In doing so, they were able to threaten the guests to electronically transfer all of their money to them. But The Flash arrived and thwarted the Tricksters’ plan. At the end of the hour, Axel and James were taken by Central City Police Department for incarceration.
In next week’s Season 4, episode 6 of “The Flash,” Barry (Gustin) will start to train Ralph, aka Elongated Man, how to be a superhero. So by the time Ralph encounters the Trickster, it’s likely that the private investigator has already mastered his metahuman skills.
“The Flash” Season 4 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
