“Flip or Flop” co-stars and exes Christina Anstead and Tarek El Moussa proved that they still poke fun at each other in a teaser for Season 9 of their HGTV show.
On Thursday, El Moussa shared the clip on his Instagram showing Anstead teasing him over his new look. In the video, the 37-year-old walked into the location where her former husband was remodeling and noticed that there was something different about him.
“[Eye roll emojis] is ALL I have to say about this video. She’s just jealous cause I’m smooth,” El Moussa captioned the video.
In the clip, Anstead told El Moussa, “You shaved all your body hair,” before likening him to a “bald kitten.”
“We’re here to design a bathroom not critique my beauty,” El Moussa quipped, before sharing that the hair removal process took six hours.
“I had a weed whacker going, had to bring a couple of gardeners in. They got my back, my chest, my arms. I look good though — you should have seen me by the beach yesterday,” he joked.
The former couple, who share two kids, have been co-hosting “Flip or Flop” since 2013. However, El Moussa and Anstead called it quits in December 2016 and finalized their divorce two years later.
Both of them have since moved on — Christina with Ant Anstead and El Moussa with Heather Rae Young. Unfortunately, Anstead and her motor specialist husband announced recently that they were ending their marriage less than two years after tying the knot.
A People source claimed that Christina and Ant had been experiencing relationship problems since last year, with the “Flip or Flop” star feeling unhappy despite their large blended family.
“Christina found it difficult to balance everything,” the unnamed insider claimed.
El Moussa, meanwhile, is about to get married to his fiancée. However, he and the “Selling Sunset” star aren’t planning to invite any of their exes to the ceremony that they are eyeing to hold in summer 2021.
“No, no exes at the wedding,” El Moussa said. “Small, less distractions, more intimate, better conversations with the people around us. You know, we just think smaller is better.”
The new season of “Flip or Flop” premiered Thursday at 9 p.m. EDT on HGTV.
