‘Flip Or Flop’ Star Christina El Moussa Says There’s ‘Progress In Relationship’ With Ex Tarek

Christina El Moussa has revealed whether she and ex Tarek hooked up at one point following their split. The 33-year-old has also said that there is “progress” in their relationship.

Christina did an interview with E!’s “Daily Pop” on Friday, and she was asked if she and her soon-to-be ex-husband ever slept with each other in the year that they were separated. The question was apparently raised given that the two are amicable and coparenting their kids, Taylor, 6, and Brayden, 20 months. Moreover, the two see each other regularly considering that they are still filming their HGTV reality series’ seventh season. “I have never gone back in the ex category,” Christina candidly responded, adding that she has not considered doing this at all.

Speaking about the relationship they share, she said, “We’re actually really good. We’ve been separated for almost a year now.” Christina then revealed that they have made “a lot of progress on [their] relationship.”

Despite stating that there’s been an improvement in how they treat each other, this progress could be primarily pertaining to them being co-parents. “We’re just really focused on the kids,” Christina said, before noting that they’re quite excited to film the new episodes of “Flip or Flip.”

They are doing 20 installments for the show’s seventh run, and they have filmed five episodes so far, according to People.

In addition, Christina said that while she and Tarek will continue to work on the television series, the dynamics of the show has changed. The new season will instead mostly focus on the former couple’s individual activities. “This time we’re going to incorporate what we’re each doing in our own lives in the show so I think it’ll be good,” she said.

Tarek has also spoken out regarding how he feels about doing a new season of their show. “From the beginning, HGTV has shown Christina and me tremendous support and we are excited to go out there and flip many more houses for ‘Flip or Flop,’” he shared.

Christina and Tarek announced their split in December 2016, but it was reported that the two actually broke up in May that year. The split came after the 35-year-old real estate agent got entangled in a controversy involving a gun he had secretly snuck into a park behind their home in Yorba Linda, California. Tarek officially filed for divorce in January as his final step in ending their seven years of marriage.

Following their breakup, the exes were linked to other people. Tarek was believed to be seeing a woman named Alyssa Logan, who was identified as one of the El Moussas’ former nannies. On the other hand, Christina reportedly dated family contractor Gary Anderson for a short time. Then, she was linked to NHL player Nate Thompson, according to Us Weekly.

In March, Christina said that she and Tarek were already in a “very good place” despite the split. “We're doing a really good job. We share the kids 50/50 and our communication is great. Like I said, the kids are happy, so everyone's doing really well,” she said.

She also told E! News at the time that dating wasn’t her priority and she’s really not putting herself out there to look for someone. “If I met someone, then that happens,” she quipped.

“Flip or Flop” is returning to HGTV this December.
