When most people think about former child stars, they remember them with fond nostalgia. It is no different when it comes to former child star Maitland Ward who starred in "Boy Meets World" in the 1990s. She is also well known for her role in the popular TV soap opera "The Bold and The Beautiful," and several other titles that she acted in both on and off the big screen. What is she doing these days? The answer may very well surprise you.

Ward recently discussed her most current role in the adult film industry. According to a report by the Daily Beast, the 42-year-old actress has been doing porn for about five months now and has taken the industry by storm. She recently collected two nominations at the AVN Awards, otherwise known as the "Oscars of Porn," for Best Three-Way Sex Scene and Best Supporting Actress. She admits that porn comes naturally to her because she enjoys sex and the legions of fans. She does admit: "If you talked to my younger, more virginal soap-opera self, I never would have seen this coming out of me.”

There is another side to the coin, though. Ward is a brilliant and well-educated woman. She is also an award-winning actress (outside of porn), having won Best Performance by a Youth Actress in a Daytime Series (1995). So why turn to porn? Those answers aren't too shocking, aside from the obvious pleasure she enjoys from the shock value of people finding out that she now works in the porn industry. She explains that her husband is supportive of her because it is just another performance.

The money is the real motivating factor here. Aside from contracts for movies -- and she has a lot of work coming up -- she is a marketing machine. She doesn't have a label and is working as an independent artist in a male-dominated industry. Her legions of loyal fans have supported her immensely by encouraging her to establish an online presence and market herself as a brand of sorts. In the report, she claims that her best monthly earnings from one site alone were a cool $62,000. When people respond to her with pity, suggesting she had to turn to porn, she responds with: "I laugh because this is a good thing, and I’m making more now."
