Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, former Miss World turned Bollywood actress is expecting a baby with husband and Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan.

Aishwarya Rai, 37, a major movies star in India married Abhishek, 35, in April 2007. This will be the first child of the couple after weeks of speculation in Indian
gossip columns about her fluctuating weight.

Bachchan Senior later said on the micro-blogging site that he was overwhelmed

Amitabh Bachchan later tweeted that he was “overwhelmed” with the response to the news from followers and said he had received 2,843 Tweets of congratulation in just half an hour.

Aishwarya has won two Filmfare Awards. Her credits include “Taal,” “Bride & Prejudice” and Hollywood fare like “The Last Legion” and “Pink Panther 2.” She has been dubbed as “the most beautiful woman in the world” and has won the Miss World pageant in 1994.
