  • Mike Majlak announced his split from former adult film actress Lana Rhoades Friday after dating for nearly 10 months
  • Some Twitter users believe Majlak will potentially lose hundreds of thousands of views without Rhoades
  • The YouTube personality also received messages of love and support after their breakup

Former porn star Lana Rhoades and Mike Majlak are over, and fans are now predicting that this split will have a negative effect on the latter's YouTube career.

Rhoades boosted Majlak's social media popularity when they started dating in January, with the ex-adult film actress making regular appearances on his YouTube channel's "The Night Shift" series over their 10-month relationship. However, after Majlak announced earlier this week that they have gone their separate ways, it remains unclear if Rhoades, whose real name is Amara Maple, will appear in his future videos.

"[A]mara has very much become a part of our lives and i wanted the story told my way before others could tarnish what was an incredible relationship and part of my journey. appreciate your love and patience," Majlak tweeted Friday.

Some Twitter users have speculated that Majlak will suffer a massive drop in YouTube views and subscribers without Rhoades. He currently has over 2 million subscribers on his channel and has received over 3 million views in nearly all of his YouTube videos in the past 10 months.

"Rip your YouTube channel. She single handedly got you +2M subs," one follower commented on his post, along with a rolling on the floor emoji.

"Now see the downfall in views," another Twitter user wrote.

"Mike about to start pulling <100k views on the 'Nightshift' w/o Lana," another wrote before Majlak officially announced his split from Rhoades.

"You could of just said I pick Logan over Lana. Bc she wanted you to move in and Logan told you NO and get home. Just like Evan you are stuck there," a third social media user commented.

Some fans predicted their breakup weeks before Majlak made the announcement, with one Twitter user alleging in September that Rhoades and the YouTuber were no longer together. The netizen suggested that their relationship was "for the views and clout."

In August, some called out Majlak, claiming that he wouldn't have been successful without the help of Rhoades and fellow YouTube star Logan Paul.

"Mike you wouldn’t have done anything without Logan or Lana you could hardly get 200k views without Lana then she came along and brought the views in," one Twitter user wrote.

But other fans came to Majlak's defense, with one pointing out that he had nearly a million subscribers before Rhoades appeared on his channel. Another emphasized that Majlak would not have broken up with Rhoades if he only cared about the views of his YouTube videos.

"I wish he cared. He [literally] said that he left Amara cuz he didn't want to settle down with her. So if he cared for the views he would've settle down with her," the fan commented.

Majlak also received love and support from fans after opening up about his breakup with Rhoades.

"head up my guy, love you bro!!" one follower wrote.

"Respect to you for breaking up to not waste someone else’s time knowing you don’t see them as your life partner. I respect it. I really hope Amara is healing properly, she seems like a genuinely good person. I hope y’all are both healing properly," another Twitter user commented.

"Sorry to here [sic]. Just remember how much you matured with her over the past year and roll with that. Keep progressing until the day when you are ready to settle down," a third social media user said.

In the breakup video he uploaded Friday, Majlak revealed that he and Rhoades chose to part ways because they wanted different things in a relationship. Rhoades had been hoping to settle down with him, but the 35-year-old YouTube star said he was not ready for that.

"I just haven’t been happy and neither is she. It’s been making me be unhappy to see her unhappy," he explained.

"It was eating at me every day to know that not only was I spending time with someone who I didn’t think was going to be my partner in life but also that I was wasting her time," he continued. "And that I was continuing to lead her towards this idea that we are gonna have this magical life together."
