Dave Batista knows what it takes for a promotion to rise and that includes riding behind the popularity and success of established stars. He had the privilege of having that role during his regular stay in the WWE and believes this is the same formula that can help All Elite Wrestling (AEW). And while the new promotion is making noise right now, the former WWE champion sees AEW no more than competition but not really as a threat.

“I don’t see it as legitimate competition. I see it as competition, which is great, there should always be competition. But until they actually produce one of their own major stars, until they actually have a production that is as big as WWE,” Batista said in an interview with Chris Van Vliet.

For some months now, AEW has been making a lot of noise with pundits believing that the WWE could be in for some stiff competition. There are several stars linked to the promotion founded by Tony Khan and owned by Shahid Khan. Among the familiar names include Chris Jericho, Dustin Rhodes and Jon Moxley (familiar to most as Dean Ambrose). There is also Jim Ross in the broadcast team as well as Billy Gunn and Dean Malenko backstage. As one can see, those are names that could help the promotion.

But for Batista, it is all about having that one big name to serve as the face of AEW. Of that mix, Moxley could be that guy – the same person who could rise to the top with more creative freedom at shows. And all that could go down at AEW All Out where he will be facing Kenny Omega, Cageside Seats reported.

Speaking of Moxley, he could be that face that the AEW needs. Speaking to TMZ recently, Moxley feels he has gotten a new lease on life, rediscovering the excitement he needs each time he takes the ring. He feels that he is 18-years-old again, easily hinting that he is raring to pick up his wrestling entertainment career moving forward – possibly with the AEW.

”I feel like I’m 18 again right now. Like, just so excited. I’m just chomping at the bit to get in the ring. ... I’m like a little kid again. It could just be all downhill starting this Friday. We could go on a sharp decline but hopefully... I’m just so excited about the future, man. So I could wrestle until I’m 100, you know? Stem cell research, you never know.”
