Former WWE Superstar Opens Up On John Cena Breaking His Ribs On RAW
KEY POINTS

- Snitsky says he holds no grudges against John Cena
- John Cena has moved to Hollywood and hardly appears on the WWE now
Former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Gene Snitsky has revealed 16-time World Champion John Cena broke his ribs on an episode of Monday night WWE RAW during a Lumberjack match back in 2005. However, Snitksy also said he holds no grudge against John Cena and called him a “good guy."
Speaking to The Hannibal TV, Snitsky said, "It depends on who you ask. It's cool wrestling John, I’ve wrestled him a bunch of times. He actually broke my ribs. He did that side slam out of the corner, and all 250 pounds came down right on my rib. I still have the little calcification on my ribs. I always joke around with people, ‘Feel that!’ They’re like, ‘Oh my God,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, John Cena did that.’ It’s funny. John’s a good guy."
The incident occurred when the two faced off in 2005 when Cena was drafted into the Red band and was in a feud with Chris Jericho. Even though Jericho tried his best to ensure Snitsky came out on top, but against all odds, it was Cena who emerged victorious.
Snitsky joined the WWE in 2005 and for a while, had a great rivalry against Kane. Snitsky requested his release from the company, and the same was granted to him. He remained active on the indie scene after his release, and also had a brief stint in Impact Wrestling.
Snitsky retired last year, and Cena has become a rare face in the WWE. The American, who has been in the WWE industry for nearly two decades, has changed paths and has plunged in his acting career. Cena has competed in only two fights this year. He has not appeared on WWE TV since the July 22 RAW Reunion special.
After being in the ring for so many years, acting has given John Cena a new challenge, which has made him realize how wrong he was to call out The Rock for choosing movies over WWE.
"I've told Dwayne Johnson that when I called him out for a lack of love for WWE, I was wrong. I was ignorant. He loves WWE, but he goes from shooting one project to the next. He blazed a trail and I didn't understand that, but now I totally understand. I was wrong. It led to a good piece of business in WWE [at WrestleMania 28 and 29], but I was speaking from a point of selfish ignorance," the wrestler said in an interview recently.
