France invites Israel, Palestinian leaders for peace talks
The French foreign minister Alain Juppe plans to invite his Israeli and Palestinian counterparts this month to Paris for re-starting peace talks.
Juppe is meeting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later on Thursday in Jerusalem.
Juppe said there is a sense of urgency and the status quo is unsustainable.
Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, who met with Juppe in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Thursday, denied to comment whether he would accept the invitation.
In 2008, talks did not reach any decision and failed over Israeli settlements.
Meanwhile, Palestinians are trying to gather U.N. support for a unilateral declaration of statehood.
