Chinese President Hu Jintao showed definitive confidence in the euro and the European economy despite some concerns, the French President Nicolas Sarkozy said on Thursday after the two leaders met in Beijing.

Hu has made a very definitive declaration about the confidence that he has in the eurozone and in the euro, Sarkozy told reporters, after meeting Hu in the Great Hall of the People in central Beijing.

Chinse leaders are concerned about the euro debt crisis, said Sarkozy .

First of all, the concerns of President Hu and of the Chinese leadership are of the same nature as those of all the leaders who regard the situation. He is neither more nor less worried, he said.
