French Montana Pulled Over By Police, Taunts Cops With ‘Black Lives Matter’
When it comes to political rappers, French Montana isn’t the first one that pops into mind, but during a run-in with the New York City Police Department Wednesday, the rapper began chanting “black lives matter.”
In footage obtained by TMZ, the 31-year-old rapper can be seen in the back of an SUV leaving the club Aces in Queens, New York. After being stopped by two officers, Montana begins recording with his phone and rolls his window down. “Man, look, I get pulled over too. Black lives matter… Black lives matter, brother.”
The rapper also appeared to taunt the officers by asking them the question they asked him and calling them the “hip-hop police.” It’s unclear why the rapper and his crew were pulled over and if he or anyone was ticketed.
In the caption for the video, which French posted on Instagram, the rapper wrote, “F--- the police. Only a few good ones left, man.” It appears that French was hanging out with rapper Fat Joe earlier that night, as one of his Instagram photos shows him posing with the rapper.
It hasn’t been all drama in French’s life lately, though. The “No Shopping” performer has recently been spotted with rumored girlfriend Iggy Azalea, but according to French, they’re just friends. “I’m just out here having fun, enjoying life, man. I always knew her but she was always in a relationship,” he told Funk Flex of Hot 97. Azalea has also denied the relationship, telling TMZ, “I’m single.”
In August, the two were spotted vacationing together in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. A source for People said the two were also partying together at a nightclub and could be seen getting “a little flirtatious” with each other.
