Freshfields appoints Colin Hargreaves to head global tax practice
Global law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has boosted its tax practice by appointing London-based Colin Hargreaves as its new global head of tax.
The law firm said Hargreaves' job will commence from January 2011 for a two year term. He replaces Stephan Eilers, who was recently appointed executive partner in the firm's new management team.
Hargreaves is currently head of the firm's London tax group. He is a corporate tax lawyer with experience in corporate finance transactions, banking and tax-based structured and asset finance and counts many corporate heavyweights in financial services, healthcare, utilities and infrastructure sectors as his clients.
Tax partner Sarah Falk will replace Hargreaves as London tax group head.
