It’s that time of year again. Friday the 13th is coming up, and that’s a problem for superstitious people. However, those who hate the supposedly unlucky date will be happy to know that it’s only coming around twice this year.

Jan. 13 marks the first Friday the 13th of 2017. Those with paraskavedekatriaphobia, a phobia of Friday the 13th, will be happy to know that they get a long break through spring and summer. The next time the famed date appears will be on Oct. 13.

Luckily, Friday the 13th will only happen once or twice a year for the next several years. Although 2015 saw the date occur three times, that isn’t set to happen again until 2026.

Though people with a phobia of the date are anxious for the day to end, horror movie fans might be disappointed that it only appears twice. After all, many networks will air movies from the Friday the 13th franchise whenever the date comes up. This year, IFC will air the 2009 version of “Friday the 13th” at 8 p.m.

Meanwhile, Syfy will take a less direct approach. Instead of “Friday the 13th,” they’ll air other movies about Jason Vorhees, the killer in the hockey mask. Expect “Jason Goes to Hell,” “Jason X” and “Freddy vs. Jason” to be marathoned in addition to several “Nightmare on Elm Street” movies.

The second Friday the 13th in 2017 should be a real treat for horror movie fans. Another reboot of the franchise, which has been delayed several times, is set to be released on its namesake day in October. Collider reports that the movie will be filming this spring. Aaron Guzikowski penned the script, and Breck Eisner is set to direct.
