'Frozen 2': Poster Has A Hidden Clue, Director Confirms
Is there a hidden clue in the promo material of “Frozen 2” that has been released? According to director Jennifer Lee, there is. The poster of the film looks like a regular snowflake, but it may reveal some secrets about the plot of the film.
It was astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson who first noticed that something was off about the poster of the upcoming film. In a post on Twitter he pointed out that water crystals have a hexagonal “six-fold” symmetry, something that was missing in the poster. He asked Disney to “fix” the problem before releasing the movie in theatres later this year.
Tyson’s posts got some mixed reactions, with some fans wondering why he has to comment on the science in an animation movie. The astrophysicist had previously explained that his intention for making such comments are “deeply misunderstood” and he reminded the fans about a poll he did last year about whether he should continue making such comments.
While the fans debate about whether Tyson should be making these observations, the director of “Frozen 2” has confirmed that the astrophysicist has inadvertently stumbled on to a big clue in the poster.
Commenting on Tyson’s observations, Lee wrote on Twitter that he is right. She confirmed that water crystals have a hexagonal “six-fold” symmetry, and she added that the only logical explanation then is that what the fans are seeing in the poster is not a snowflake.
The director did not reveal any more details about what the poster is really about. Meanwhile, the fans are busy speculating what the picture is about. Many of the people commenting on the director’s post suggest that the image is of a compass.
The plot of “Frozen 2” is about a journey to forest in an enchanted land far from Arendelle. Will Elsa (Voice by Idina Menzel) and Anna (Voice by Kristen Bell) use a magical compass to take them where they want to go?
