The Samsung Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7 were both unleashed in China in June. On Thursday, the South Korean tech giant officially announced both the handsets through an India launch event in New Delhi.

The Galaxy J5 is a dual-SIM handset that comes fitted with a 5-inch display supporting HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It produces a pixel density of 294 ppi. The Snapdragon 410 chipset houses a 64-bit quad-core processor that can reach a clocking speed of 1.2 GHz. The SoC is supported by 1.5 GB of RAM, Phone Arena reported

The handset features a native storage of 16 GB, and the expandable storage slot on the device can read up to 64 GB of microSD card. The Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7 sport front-facing LED flash for snapping selfies. The camera on the rear of the J5 is 13 MP and it is capable of shooting decent photos in low-lighting conditions thanks to its f/1.9 aperture.

The Galaxy J5 has a 5 MP selfie camera that supports 120 degree wide angle shooting and it is enabled with LED flash. It comes preloaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and offers handful of connectivity features such as 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is equipped with a battery of 2,600 mAh capacity.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 features a larger HD display of 5.5 inches with a slight higher pixel count of 267 ppi. The Snapdragon 615 chipset present inside the device includes an octa-core processor. It is accompanied by 1.5 GB of RAM.

The native storage on the device is 16 GB and users can add up to 128 of microSD card on its external storage. Like the Galaxy J5, it houses a 13 MP rear camera and front-facing camera of 5 MP enabled with LED flash. The Android 5.1.1 comes preinstalled on the Galaxy J7.

The Galaxy J7 is also a dual-SIM device that comes with usual connectivity options of 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also present on this device. It is packed with a huge battery of 3,000 mAh capacity. The Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7 are available in color options like black, white and gold. The Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7 are priced around $189 and $289, respectively.
