Galaxy Note 10 Too Expensive? Get An S10 For A Lot Less
The Galaxy Note 10 features some of Samsung’s latest and best offerings, but it’s not the most affordable smartphone in the market today. Here’s the best alternative to Samsung’s latest smartphone.
Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ and revealed the best specs any Samsung-branded smartphone has yet. Both devices feature Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O displays with 401 and 498 ppi in the standard and Plus models respectively. They also have the best rear cameras in the Note series ( triple and quad-camera setups with ToF sensor on the Plus model).
Both models also have 5G variants that allow them to connect to the fastest network available. While the LTE-only versions offer a maximum of 8GB/12GB RAM and 256 GB of internal storage space on the standard and Plus models, the 5G models offer up to 12GB RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. This makes the devices good enough for power users.
The standard Note 10 models have large 3,500 mAh batteries while the Plus models have 4,300 mAh batteries. This is paired with Super Fast Wired Charging and Fast Wireless Charging. The batteries provide enough to last a long time, yet won’t take a lot of time to charge from zero to 100. Both standard and Plus models also offer Wireless PowerShare.
The S Pen itself now offers added features. With “Air actions,” users can now command the device to do specific tasks without the need for the S Pen to touch the surface of the Note 10 or Note 10+. The S Pen also lasts up to 10 hours on a single charge.
A Good Alternative
These features and more make the Galaxy Note 10 a great choice for any smartphone buyer. But not everyone will be able to afford it -- interested buyers will need to shell out more than $1,000 after taxes.
Those who don’t want to spend that much on a Samsung-branded smartphone and don’t need the S Pen anyway can simply choose to purchase the Galaxy S10 which is a good smartphone as well. BGR noted that the S10 is a “stunning phablet” that “roughly the same great experience [users can] get from the Note 10, but without the built-in stylus.”
Amazon sells a brand-new factory unlocked Galaxy S10+ with 128GB storage for only $833.11 (17% discount from $1,000 selling price). Those who don’t mind using a refurbished unit can buy a renewed and unlocked Galaxy S10+ with 128GB storage for only $599.99.
