Galaxy S6, S6 Edge Discounted By $100 On T-Mobile; Now 64GB And 128 GB Models Cost Same
The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge are the most in-demand flagship smartphones at present. Both have received positive reviews from the tech crtics. Now, both the handsets are available with reduced price tags on T-Mobile.
Recently, Samsung proclaimed that it will be reducing the prices of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones in order to rack up more sales in the remaining months of this year. From Aug. 4, both the smartphones are available with permanent discounts in Europe. In the U.S., T-Mobile is the first carrier to announce the $100 discount for both the models, Driod-Life reported.
The $100 discount brings down the off-contract cost of the Samsung Galaxy S6 with 32 GB storage to $569.99. The 64 GB variant is now available for $659.99 off-contract.
The 128 GB model that was launched with a price of $859.99 was recently discounted to $759.99. However, the new $100 price cut has reduced its price to $659.99 off-contract. Now, the 64 GB and 128 GB models of the Galaxy S6 are carrying the same price tags.
T-Mobile is also selling the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge with 32 GB storage for $679.99 after the price reduction of $100. The 64 GB Galaxy S6 Edge is now available for $759.99. The price of the 128 GB has been also reduced to $759.99.
Now that T-Mobile has reduced the prices of the Samsung flagships, other carriers are expected to follow the suit. As of this writing, T-Mobile has not revealed whether the new discounts on the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge handsets are temporary or permanent.
Recently, Ookla, maker of the speedtest app, conducted research to find the fastest mobile network in the U.S. It was found that T-Mobile provides the fastest 4G LTE connectivity with median download and upload speeds of 19.2 Mbps and 9.90 Mbps, Tmo News reported.
T-Mobile has also replaced Sprint as the third-largest carrier in the country. The recent quarterly earnings report reveals that the carrier has gained a total of 58.9 million subscribers.
