Galentine's Day is celebrated every year on Feb.13, a day before Valentine's Day, to appreciate the power of girl friendships which are equally important to human life and existence.

The term "Galentine's Day" was first introduced in a 2010 episode of the NBC comedy series "Parks and Recreation." The protagonist of the popular TV show, Leslie Knope shared the idea of celebrating a holiday to honor sisterhood in the second season of the series and since then the idea gained popularity.
