“General Hospital” fans may have been disappointed on Thursday, September 27, when they tuned in to see a brand new episode of the popular ABC soap opera only for it to be interrupted by the Senate Judiciary Committee proceedings over the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

During the daytime series’ timeslot, the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford was broadcast on the network. As a result, the Thursday episode was preempted nationwide and delayed until Friday.

“GH” series executive Nathan Varni assured fans that despite the interruption, they would get a chance to catch up on the drama they were forced to miss.

“Heads up, we are going to push today’s episode of #GH to tomorrow and episodes will be pushed back by a day. We want you all to have the chance to see today's episode on-air, see you tomorrow,” he tweeted amid the court proceedings.

Although viewers will have to go without five episodes this week, there are plenty of spoilers to look forward to next week. Laura (Genie Francis) was expected to make her “General Hospital” return on Friday, but fans will have to wait until Monday to see the longtime character grace their television screens.

However, her return means trouble for Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) who has been passing himself off as his twin brother Kevin. Laura may have been gone for quite some time, but spoilers reveal she will notice a change in her husband which will prompt Ryan to create a plan to get rid of his latest problem.

While Ryan focuses on maintaining his secret, the other residents of Port Charles will start off the first week of October on an emotional roller coaster, according to Soap Hub. After having a heart to heart with Jason (Steve Burton), spoilers reveal Sam (Kelly Monaco) will make a bold move.

Meanwhile, Oscar (Garren Stitt) is expected to push Drew (Billy Miller) away as he struggles to accept that he may die before he truly gets the chance to live.

However, he isn’t the only one who may lose his life. Margaux (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) will remain dedicated to tying Sonny (Maurice Benard) to the body found underneath Charlie’s Pub. The conviction would put the mob boss in prison for life and tear him apart from the family he always swore to protect.

Despite his crucial situation, Ava (Maura West) will manage to poke the bear who is her ex-husband and will get him fired up. Due to her antics next week, she will be on the receiving end of verbal lashings from both Sonny and Kiki (Hayley Erin).

“General Hospital” airs weekdays at 3 p.m. EDT on ABC.
