It will be a day of manipulation and revelations for the residents of Port Charles as they attempt to make the best of their situations. On the Thursday, August 2 episode of “General Hospital,” Sam looks for a way to keep Jason in town as Nelle ties up loose ends.

In the promo for the ABC soap opera, a man and woman are seen entering Ferncliff, where a familiar voice is heard telling a nurse they have arrived to discuss Carly’s (Laura Wright) escape. “General Hospital” spoilers reveal Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Curtis (Donnell Turner) pay a visit to Ferncliff.

In the previous episode, Jason (Steve Burton) told Sam he broke Carly out of Ferncliff and authorities were looking for them. As a result, the two would have to hide out in Canada for a few months.

Even though Sam suggested Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) may be able to help them so Jason wouldn’t have to leave, he thought the only way to avoid criminal charges was if they could prove Carly’s electroconvulsive therapy wasn’t voluntary.

Jason broke Carly out of Ferncliff just as she was about to undergo the procedure and told Sam neither Sonny (Maurice Benard) nor Carly ever consented to the form of therapy.

If Sam can prove the therapy was involuntary, not only would the institution be at fault for violating Carly’s patient rights, but Nelle (Chloe Lanier) could also go down. If Nelle’s lie about Carly pushing her down the stairs is exposed, she could face additional charges, seeing as Carly would have never been in danger of being the subject of the controversial procedure if it wasn’t for Nelle’s accusations.

Will the fear of losing Jason motivate Sam to prove Carly’s innocence while taking down Nelle and Ferncliff?

Elsewhere in Port Charles, Nelle will be hard at work manipulating everyone around her in order to cover her tracks and make a clean break from the town. In the “General Hospital” promo video, Nelle tells Kim (Tamara Braun) that as soon as she is released from the hospital she will be sent off to jail.

Chances are, Nelle will attempt to prey on Kim’s sympathy as a mother and beg her to assist in an escape. After confessing to killing her ex-fiancé, Nelle is aware she has no choice but to disappear before even more evidence against her surfaces.

In the previous episode of the ABC daytime series, Chase (Josh Swickard) was busy blaming himself for Nelle and Michael’s baby dying until Lulu (Emme Rylan) walked in. In the promo video, Lulu asks Chase if he thinks there could be someone else who helped Nelle.

Since becoming a journalist, Lulu has formed a habit of over-analyzing situations, but this time she may be on to something. “GH” spoilers reveal Chase is grateful. Chase is aware that Liesl (Kathleen Gati) escaped when Michael crashed into the van transporting her and may look for a way to prove the doctor was on hand for the baby’s delivery.

Will Chase figure out that Nelle lied to Michael about the death of their baby?

“General Hospital” airs weekdays at 3 p.m. EDT on ABC.
