The latest devstream for “Genshin Impact” revealed a wealth of new information regarding the game’s upcoming update and continuation of the previous patch, offering more story, events, character banners and more for players to sink their teeth into.
The 2.1 update is scheduled to go live on Sept. 1 and with it comes plenty of new content to fight, explore and collect. Players have roughly one week left to finish the current version’s events and activities before more are introduced in the next patch.
Here’s a quick round-up of everything that’s coming to “Genshin Impact” in update 2.1.
New Banners
The long-awaited banner for the Raiden Shogun and Kujou Sara will be spearheading Patch 2.1’s character banners. The Electro Archon is a polearm user, much like her counterpart from Liyue, and she shines best as an off-field damage dealer who can be used as a primary DPS character in short windows of time while her Elemental Burst is active.
On the other hand, Sara will be the first bow user among the adult female character archetype. She wields the power of Electro to deal high AoE damage while providing damage buffs to the rest of her team.
Sangonomiya Kokomi will also be featured at a later banner in Patch 2.1. She’s a Hydro catalyst user with potent heals and control effects.
PlayStation users will also be getting “Horizon Zero Dawn” protagonist Aloy as a free 4-star character in “Genshin Impact.” Players in other platforms will receive Aloy in Patch 2.2 instead.
The weapon banner will feature the Shogun’s signature polearm: Engulfing Lightning.
New Islands
The islands of Seira and Watatsumi will be introduced in the next patch. They come with more chests, puzzles and world quests for players to finish.
New Events
The Moonchase Festival in Liyue will take place during Patch 2.1, starring Xiangling and Keqing as they roam the lands in search of ingredients. The event will reward players with the Luxurious Sea-Lord claymore among other goodies.
Hyakunin Ikki, a tag-team style fighting event, and the fishing-oriented Lunar Realm event are also included in the patch’s lineup of events.
New Bosses
La Signora will be available as a new weekly boss while the Electro Oceanid and Hydro Hypostasis will be added as new world bosses. They will drop materials required for upgrading the new characters.
Fishing
Players will soon be able to catch fish with a fishing rod and either exchange them into new fishing rods via the new Fishing Association, or use them as ingredients for their own meals or as teapot decorations.
