- MiHoYo might reveal featured characters in "Genshin Impact" 2.2 after Update 2.1 is live
- Ganyu is a 5-star Cryo Bow user
"Genshin Impact" would reportedly introduce Ganyu and Hu Tao reruns in its future updates according to reliable insiders in the community.
Chinese gaming studio miHoYo periodically introduces new characters in "Genshin Impact" to engage its player base. Interestingly, an industry insider who goes by the name Ubatcha1 teased that Ganyu might have a rerun in Update 2.2 of the hit gacha game.
The insider did not explicitly say that the rerun would feature Ganyu. Instead, they emphasized the terms bow and chill in their tweet.
"As Inazuma takes a Bow, there should be a pretty Chill re-run coming in 2.2 and along with that there's at least one new character," the tweet said.
The insider also assured fans, "I'll be sharing more as and when I can." However, they noted, "Keep in mind this is all subject to change." Fans were quick to conclude that the character being teased for the rerun is Ganyu since she is a 5-star Cryo Bow user.
A reliable industry insider who goes by the name Genshin Leaks retweeted uBatcha1's tease. They shared an image showing Ganyu and said, "A developing story for 2.2." They also mentioned Xiao in a follow-up tweet but said, "Xiao is possible but not probable."
The "Genshin Impact" Ganyu rerun rumors aligned with the information insider hutaoluvrs shared on Wednesday. Aside from Ganyu, they also mentioned "Hu Tao will have her rerun in December."
Ganyu has been the center of rerun rumors over the past months. An industry insider who goes by the name DimBreath shared last May several assets discovered in the files of "Genshin Impact," showing Ganyu's Constellation.
However, they clarified, "Now, does this means she's not coming soon? We don't know. Does this mean she's not coming this upcoming patch? We don't know either. All we're able to tell you is what we see at the moment."
The insider also told fans that the discovery does not confirm "any rerun or any of the sorts. It's just an example picture to demonstrate kind of what a completed character looks like." If rumors about Ganyu are accurate fans could confirm this as soon as "Genshin Impact" Update 2.1 goes live.
These days, miHoYo announces the next update's featured character right after the release of a new patch. "Genshin Impact" Update 2.1 is expected to roll out sometime in September.
