"Genshin Impact" 2.2 is anticipated to introduce a new set of powerful characters in the game, one of them is a Hydro character who happens to be the brother of Ayaka.

Chinese gaming studio miHoYo is expected to roll out the "Genshin Impact" 2.2 patch sometime between the last week of October and the first week of November. Interestingly, before miHoYo sued the Chinese video site Bilibili to crackdown leakers, some industry insiders leaked information that the game developer is currently working on Ayato Kamisato.

A reliable industry insider who goes by the Twitter user name Sukuna leaked interesting details about Ayato a few days ago. In a now-deleted account, the insider revealed that Ayato's design is based on Zhongli.

They also mentioned the upcoming character is a Hydro user who wields a Claymore and can change his weapon into a sword stance when his Elemental Skill is triggered. As for his Elemental Burst, it reportedly enables the character to summon a vortex that will draw in opponents while applying Hydro DMG to those within its range.

While Ayato has not yet been released in "Genshin Impact," his name has been mentioned twice in his sister's Lore. For those unaware, Ayaka Kamisato debuted in the game on Jul. 21 via Update 2.0.

The lore reveals Ayato is the current head of the Kamisato clan and is in charge of government affairs. "About Ayato... If my brother were to fall then I would ascend the role of Shabukyo. Oh... If you see him, remind him to take care of himself. For his sister's sake," Ayaka said in one of her voice lines.

It looks like Ayato has a strong bond with another upcoming character in the game, Sayu. The head of the Kamisato clan introduced Sayu at one point saying, "Are you in a hurry to find Sayu? She is usually hiding in the trees in the afternoons. I have my own ways of finding her, so let me know if you need help."

Since nothing is official yet about Ayato, fans should temper their expectations and take this leak as highly speculative. "Genshin Impact" just received Update 2.1.

The game is available on various gaming platforms. This includes PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, iOS and Android devices.
