KEY POINTS

  • Yae Miko can deal excellent damage with her skills and basic attacks
  • She can be flexible with her builds depending on player preference
  • Yae works best with other Electro units that can generate energy for her

Yae Miko is finally available on the live servers for “Genshin Impact,” and she has been everything fans expected and more. The head priestess of the Grand Narukami Shrine can smite every enemy on the battlefield with her lightning, but reaching her true potential will require a bit of effort from players.

There’s a bit of flexibility to be had with Yae’s kit in terms of how she deals damage, and this allows for a wider selection of builds and support characters to bring to the field with her. Here’s an overview of her playstyle and some suggestions on what to equip for Yae in “Genshin Impact 2.5.”

How To Play Yae Miko

Depending on the player’s preference, Yae Miko can either be the main DPS carry who deals sustained damage via Charged Attacks or a burst DPS unit with front-loaded Elemental Burst damage.

Yae’s Charged Attacks are surprisingly strong, and since they fire in a line, they can hit multiple enemies standing behind each other. Alternatively, her abilities allow her to deal Electro damage to enemies without spending too much time on the field, allowing other DPS carries to clean up the mess.

Either playstyle is effective, and they can be made even stronger if players choose to focus on one or the other.

Best Yae Miko Builds

For a Normal/Charged Attack-focused build, the best weapon players can go for is the event-exclusive Dodoco Tales from the Golden Apple Archipelago summer event since it boosts both Normal and Charged Attack damage. Players who don’t have this can use the Widsith, Skyward Atlas, or Black Agate instead. The Thundering Fury and any ATK%-boosting artifact set with DPS stats are recommended.

For an Elemental Burst-heavy build, Solar Pearl and Kagura’s Verity offer the best damage boosts. Hakushin Ring is also a great alternative, especially if there are two or more Electro units in the party. Use Thundering Fury and Noblesse Oblige along with the usual DPS stats.

Team Synergies

Having a secondary Electro unit like Fischl or Raiden Shogun is essential for making the most out of Yae Miko’s ultimate since it has a high energy cost. Electro Resonance and the innate particle generation ability of these two characters can help offset the issue.

Bennett and Kazuha will maximize Yae’s damage while both of their ultimate abilities are on the field. Alternatively, Mona and Xingqiu are excellent for setting up Electro-Charged reactions for more consistent damage and light crowd control.
