'Genshin Impact' Guide: How To Get The Catch Polearm
KEY POINTS
- The Catch is a polearm that's great for Elemental Burst-heavy team compositions
- The weapon can be acquired from the Inazuma Fishing Association
- Players will need to obtain large amounts of fish to purchase the weapon and all of its refinement materials
Patch 2.1 of “Genshin Impact” added what might be the best free weapon for ability-based polearm users in the game, but players will have to spend a considerable amount of time and effort before they can get their hands on it.
The Catch is a 4-star polearm that passively boosts Elemental Burst DMG and Elemental Burst CRIT Rate while providing decent Energy Recharge values as its secondary stat. It also has respectable base damage at level 90 that makes it one of the best, if not the best, polearm in the game for F2P players, especially for the Raiden Shogun.
As its name implies, The Catch can be acquired through the newly-introduced Fishing system. Players can simply go about and fish as much as they can, but The Catch will require specific types of fish that may not be easy to get.
Here’s a quick guide on how to get this new weapon in “Genshin Impact.”
Finish the Fishing quest
Head to Mondstadt’s Adventurers Guild and talk to Katheryne to begin the Exploding Population quest, which will introduce players to the basics of fishing. Finish the quest to receive a fishing rod and unlock access to the fishing associations.
Catch fish
To acquire the weapon, players need to provide the following fish to the Inazuma Fishing Association:
- 20 Golden Koi
- 20 Rusty Koi
- 6 Raimei Angelfish
Koi can be found in the following locations:
- Liyue –The bridge between Guili Plains and Mingyun Village
- Liyue – Lihua Pool, north of the domain
- Liyue – The beach west of Wangshu Inn
- Mondstadt – The shore along the Whispering Woods near the city gates
- Mondstadt – The river leading towards the sea in the Stormbearer Mountains
Raimei Angelfish can be found in the following areas:
- Inazuma – East of the Statue of the Seven in Koseki Village, Seirai Island
- Inazuma – A small archipelago southeast of the Kujou Encampment
After collecting all of the fish, head to the Inazuma Fishing Association near the city to get the weapon.
How to refine The Catch
The Catch uses Ako’s Sake Vessels as its refinement materials. To get one of these materials, players must turn in three Raimei Angelfish, 10 Bitter Pufferfish and 10 normal Pufferfish to the Inazuma Fishing Association.
Players must collect the same number of fish again to purchase more Sake Vessels until max refinement rank is achieved.
