"Genshin Impact" is scheduled to have its first-ever crossover and "Horizon Zero Dawn's" Aloy will be the five-star character that players can get for free. Here's how players can get their hands on Aloy when she arrives in the hit gacha game.

Chinese gaming studio miHoYo announced on Twitter that "Genshin Impact" will have its first-ever collab character. Aloy, the heroine from "Horizon Zero Dawn," will be the first character from another game to debut in the "Genshin Impact" universe. "Savior From Another World" Aloy will be the featured five-star character in the game.

The Aloy event will be launched in two phases, according to miHoYo. The first phase will take place right after Update 2.1 and during the maintenance of Update 2.2. At the beginning of the game's new version, players who log in to "Genshin Impact" using their PlayStation 4 and PS5 consoles will get Aloy via in-game mail.

It is important to note that "Genshin Impact" players must be at least Adventure Rank 20 to be eligible to get Aloy.

With the cross-save play feature that miHoYo introduced in Update 2.0, any player with a PlayStation gaming system can access Aloy in the first phase of the event. Players who use PC, iOS or Android devices can also get Aloy for free during the second phase of the Aloy event. That will be at the end of Update 2.2 and during the maintenance of Update 2.3.

During this period, players who log into the game using any platform will get the free character via their in-game mail, as well. It looks like Aloy is a Cryo character that wields a bow in the hit gacha game. Her design gives her the "Breath of the Wild" vibe. With her element, players can use her to access a wide range of ice-based abilities in "Horizon Zero Dawn."

More details about Aloy's abilities, story quests or other related content have not been made public yet, but miHoYo would more likely reveal these as Update 2.2 approaches. Interestingly, since Aloy is a free five-star character, players will not have to spend their Primogems and could save them for other Inazuma characters like Baal, Sara and Kokomi.
