George Clooney, Rande Gerber’s Casamigos Collaborates With Sprinkles Cupcakes

George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman’s Casamigos tequila has tied up with Sprinkles Cupcakes for a limited edition margarita-flavored cupcake. The new flavor of cupcake will not satisfy sweet cravings but also cocktail cravings. The new treat will be available in shops nationwide from May 1 to May 22, just in time for Cinco de Mayo, the Mexican holiday on May 5.

The sweet-tart treat has been reimagined by Casamigos and Sprinkles. The custom made cupcake has the flavorful key lime that has been used in the frosting as well as in the base. The cupcake also boasts notes of Casamigos Blanco Tequila.

The humble dessert has been elevated to new heights with the new margarita-flavored cupcake. This is not the first time Sprinkles Cupcakes has provided dessert aficionados with limited edition treats. Earlier, to celebrate the success of CBS hit comedy series “Two Broke Girls,” the dessert company dished out a cupcake that featured a buttery, crumbly graham cracker crust and vanilla cake with chocolate chips.

Meanwhile, around the same time last year Hollywood actor Clooney’s entrepreneur friend Gerber shared Casamigos’ new cocktail recipe with People. “We typically drink [our tequila] chilled neat or on the rocks, no lime required, but our Casamigos mixologist came to us with this orange cinnamon margarita, which was an immediate hit with our team at the office. It’s truly refreshing and is perfect for kicking off the spring,” he said.

For the orange cinnamon margarita, supermodel Cindy Crawford’s husband said one and half parts of resposado tequila is mixed with one part of fresh orange juice, three-fourth part fresh lime juice, half part of simple syrup and cinnamon sugar. All the ingredients are combined together with ice. It is then shaken and poured into a rocks glass, or it can be blended and served frozen in a cinnamon sugar rimmed glass.
