George Sodini is reportedly identified as the man who walked into the LA Fitness gym class in Pennsylvania on Tuesday evening, turned off the lights and started shooting.

Sodini, 48, from Pennsylvania, walked into the Latin dance gym class at approximately 8pm last night and began his shooting spree at a crowd of approximately thirty women.

Three woman were killed and nine injured before the gunman turned the gun on himself.

According to reports from SKY NEWS the gunman apparently kept a hate-filled online diary which appears to have been set up on August 1, 2000.

Sodini's last diary entry, on August 3, 2009 - the day before the rampage - said: The notes in my gym bag can be published freely.

I will not be embarrassed because, well, I will be dead.

The diary ends with the declaration: Death lives!
