Get Hulu For Free With New Sprint Unlimited Plan
Sprint Unlimited Freedom customers can now get Hulu for free, the carrier announced Wednesday.
Unlimited Freedom customers will have free access to Hulu’s Limited Commercials plan. Customers can manually sign-up for the offer at sprint.com/hulu from Nov. 17 to Dec. 8.
Hulu’s Limited Commercials plan includes TV shows, movies and Hulu original series, like “The Handmaid’s Tale.” The Hulu offer will allow users to stream TV shows like “The Good Doctor,” “This Is Us,” “Family Guy,” “The Voice,” “Fear the Walking Dead” and classics like “Seinfeld,” “Full House,” “Boy Meets World” and “Family Matters.” Sprint’s deal with Hulu means customers can save $7.99 a month, the usual price of the streaming plan.
The two companies will also offer Sprint Unlimited customers an upgrade option for Hulu’s sports and news-centric live TV plan in the future. Users will be able to stream games from the NFL, NCAA football, MLB, NBA, European Premier League soccer and more with the upgrade.
“We know people love watching TV on their mobile devices, so we’re making it easier than ever for Sprint customers to enjoy their favorite shows and movies on Hulu,” Tim Connolly, Hulu’s senior vice president and head of distribution and partnerships, said in the announcement. “This exciting partnership with Sprint gives TV fans nationwide a powerful, seamless entertainment experience that they can take with them, whenever and wherever they want.”
The deal allows one Hulu Limited Commercials plan per eligible Sprint account. The offer will be available to new or returning Hulu subscribers only, according to the terms and conditions page. Customers will be able to stream Hulu content on their mobile phones using their monthly data. As for tablets, users can stream Hulu content via a Sprint Hot Spot or by subscribing to a separate unlimited data plan for tablets.
Sprint’s unlimited plan costs $60 a month for one line and $100 for up to five lines (offer until January 31, 2018). The plan includes unlimited data, talk and text, as well as 10GB of hotspot data per line and HD streaming video.
Sprint and Hulu’s deal comes after T-Mobile and Netflix announced a similar bundle in September, titled “Netflix On Us.” The Netflix offer includes TV shows, movies and original series, like “Stranger Things,” “The Crown” and “Ozark.” T-Mobile customers under the ONE family plan can stream Netflix for free with under the deal. The plan costs $40 per line for a family of four. For the T-Mobile-Netflix deal, T-Mobile ONE customers can sign up online, on the phone or at stores. T-Mobile will pay the cost of a standard subscription for those who already have a Netflix, meaning they’ll save about $120 a year.
Meanwhile, AT&T offers free HBO access with its Unlimited Choice or Plus plans.
