‘Get Shorty’ Season 1, Episode 6 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen Next?

It looks like Miles won’t be able to spend time with his family as much as he would like to in Season 1, episode 6 of “Get Shorty.”

The synopsis for the next episode of the Epix series reveals that an unexpected visitor on the studio lot changes Miles’ (Chris O’Dowd) plans with his visiting wife Katie (Lucy Walters) and daughter Emma (Carolyn Dodd). While the episode logline doesn’t reveal who this surprise guest is, the final scene of the last episode suggests that the visitor is none other than Amara (Lidia Porto).

At the end of Season 1, episode 5, Rick (Ray Romano) got a late-night call from Amara. The Nevada crime boss asked the movie producer if he would show her around Hollywood. Rick said he would, but he was shocked when he found out that the Amara had already arrived in Hollywood. “I’m here, Ricky. And so far, I like it,” Amara said.

In Season 1, episode 2, Miles told Katie for the first time that he’s making a movie in L.A. However, he didn’t tell her at that time that Amara is one of the investors of the film. So how would Katie react when she finds out that Miles hasn’t really cut his ties with the mob?

After learning what really happened to Jeffrey (Kristoffer Polaha) in Season 1, episode 4, Katie called Miles and told him that she and Emma couldn’t have Amara in their lives. Given Katie’s aversion towards the gang, it wouldn’t be surprising if she heads back to Pahrump as soon as she discovers Amara’s involvement in the film.

Katie, on the other hand, also has a couple of reasons to stay in L.A. First, she made it clear that she hasn’t gotten over Miles yet. And second, there’s a possibility that the plastic surgeon assistant could get a job in L.A. after meeting a woman named Nicole in episode 5.

Apparently, Miles is not the only one who gets distracted with Amara’s sudden visit to L.A. The synopsis for episode 6 also reveals that the wider production team of “The Admiral’s Mistress” is left with no choice but to entertain Amara during her stay in Hollywood.

“Get Shorty” Season 1, episode 6, titled “Epinephrine,” airs on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 10 p.m. EDT on Epix.
