‘Girl Meets World’ Cast Shares Photos, Returns To ‘Boy Meets World’ Spinoff Set To Continue Filming
"Boy Meets World" fans are patiently waiting for the new Disney spinoff series, “Girl Meets World,” and fortunately the wait won’t be much longer. Set to debut later this year (no official premiere date has been released), the cast has reunited this week and are being extra photo-happy on Twitter.
“Grateful to be back with my #GirlMeetsWorld family this week #ThisIsLove,” Rowan Blanchard tweeted on Thursday, Jan. 10 along with a photo. The picture shows Blanchard, who plays Cory and Topanga’s daughter, Riley Matthews, with her on-screen family – Sabrina Carpenter (Riley’s best friend, Maya), Ben Savage (Cory Matthews), Danielle Fishel (Topanga Matthews), Peyton Meyer (Riley’s crush, Tristan Friar), and August Maturo (Riley’s little brother, Louis Matthews).
Meanwhile, Blanchard’s on-screen dad, Ben Savage, also took to social media to share a photo of the cast. “Girl Meets World,” he simply captioned the shot which features Blanchard, Fishel, Carpenter, Meyer, Maturo and Corey Fogelmanis, who plays Riley and Maya’s classmate, Shamus Farkle.
“Girl Meets World” follows Riley and Maya in New York City as they “embark on an unforgettable middle school experience.” That experience includes Riley’s dad, who is their new history teacher, and her mom, who owns the local trendy after-school hangout “that specializes in pudding.”
The writers of “Girl Meets World” have been happy to interact with fans using their Twitter account, @GMWWriters. At the beginning of December, they began dropping hints about the first guest star from the “Boy Meets World” universe, leading Twitter users to initially guess Shawn or Eric. “So fast?” @GMWWriters asked in early December. “Don’t you want to start on the other side of the school?” Fans then began to speculate that the first “Boy Meets World” character to guest-star would be William Daniels' beloved Mr. Feeny. Viewers can also look forward to a Matthews holiday episode and seeing jazz musician Herbie Hancock.
“Girl Meets World” currently has eight live tapings listed for 2014. The show schedule dates are Jan. 14, 21 and 28; Feb. 11, 19 and 26; and March 11 and 18. If you live in Los Angeles and want to attend a taping, you can click HERE to get ticket information.
