Gisele Bündchen-Tom Brady Divorce Rumors: Why Model Considered Breaking Up With New England Patriots Quarterback
Brazilian fashion model Gisele Bündchen and her husband, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, have been plagued by divorce rumors for months, and for one of the first times she opened up about their marriage Tuesday. There was indeed a time she thought about breaking up with Brady, Bündchen dished during an interview with "CBS This Morning's" Charlie Rose.
After they began dating in 2007, Bündchen found out actress Bridget Moynahan, Brady's ex-girlfriend, was pregnant. "It was a challenging thing because here I am, you know, thinking, I'm dating this guy, we met, and we started dating and everything is great and then this happens," Bündchen said, according to People magazine. "So, then I felt like I didn't know what to do. It was kind of one of those moments of like, 'Do I just run away?'"
She and Brady worked out a co-parenting agreement with his ex. "I think, now, eight years later, I couldn't have asked for a sweeter bonus child," Bündchen said about John, the child her husband shares with Moynahan.
As most people know, Bündchen gave Brady a chance. Brady and Bündchen married in 2009. They have two children together: Benjamin, 5, and Vivian, 2.
The 35-year-old beauty gushed about her husband and said Brady, 38, was a “very kind man.” But their relationship was questioned in September after she posted a cryptic message to Instagram. “Nobody is perfect,” she wrote Sept. 15. “But you can’t keep using that as an excuse to do wrong or not try to improve.”
One factor that might have caused tension in their relationship was the Deflategate scandal. "They had a very rough few months and the Deflategate scandal took its toll on their marriage," an insider told Eonline.com in September. "Tom was very difficult to be around and withdrawn. Gisele was supportive, but she also was frustrated with his stress level and anger. She felt like he was taking things out on her and not being fair."
