GOAT App Discount: Apple Pay Promo Slashing Sneaker Prices Up To 30 Percent
Apple Pay users who love sneakers will be able to take advantage of a discount on the GOAT app, according to emails seen by 9to5Mac.
The promotion is the latest Apple Pay deal for users, part of an effort to get more people to use the payment service on their devices.
Apple reportedly began sending emails to customers on Friday announcing the GOAT app promotion. The company said users can get up to 30 percent off on the app’s “Get Fit” sneaker collection. Users can take advantage of the deal until Jan. 17.
The email Apple circulated regarding the GOAT app promotion also included other sections on how to “Maximize your performance” and “Be the best you,” which promoted Foot Locker, Walgreens, lululemon, Under Armour, Class Pass and New Balance.
What Is The GOAT App?
For those who aren’t familiar with the GOAT (greatest of all time) app, the platform allows users to buy and sell sneakers. Sneakerheads can buy used or new shoes on the app. Sneakers are also checked if they’re authentic before being shipped to buyers. Users on the GOAT app can browse over 125,000 sneakers. Brands sold on the platform include Nike, Air Jordan, Lebron, Kobe, Adidas, Yeezy, New Balance and more. Sellers can put their sneakers up for sale on the app by uploading pictures of the shoes and setting a price. The app also helps users set a price, based on their data.
The app is free on the App Store and is compatible with iOS 10.0 or later on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The app’s current version has four out of five stars on the App Store.
This isn’t the first time Apple Pay teams up with the GOAT app. Back in September, GOAT app users who used Apple Pay when checking out were entered for a chance to win $1,000.
Besides the GOAT app, Apple also offered deals other Apple Pay deals, including a free $5 iTunes gift card and 5 percent cash back with Chase’s Freedom credit card for Apple Pay purchases. The Chase deal is available until the end of March.
