Golden Globe 2017: Sarah Paulson Feels Faint, Kisses Amanda Peet Accepting ‘People v. O.J. Simpson’ Award
“The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” delighted audiences when it premiered on FX last spring. The show and its stars have been continually recognized at various award shows, winning almost every award it’s nominated for.
On Sunday, Sarah Paulson, who played Marcia Clark on the show, won best actress in a limited series at the 2017 Golden Globes. Stunned, the actress took the stage announcing that she felt as though she may “faint.” Fortunately she did not and was able to deliver a heartfelt thank you speech to all those who made her win possible. People named in Paulson’s speech included Clark, creator Ryan Murphy — in a nod to Jimmy Fallon’s opening monologue — and more.
Paulson beat out an impressive group of actresses. Other nominees included Felicity Huffman for “American Crime”; Riley Keough for “The Girlfriend Experience”; Charlotte Rampling for “London Spy”; and Kerry Washington for “Confirmation.” Paulson was the favorite to win in many pre-Golden Globes predictions.
Before accepting her award, Paulson shared a smooch with pal Amanda Peet. The pair also shared a kiss on the red carpet, as they have on several other past occasions.
The 2017 Golden Globe Awards airs live on NBC at 8 p.m. EST. Watch the live stream HERE, check out the full list of nominees HERE and keep up with the full list of winners HERE.
