‘The Good Doctor’ Season 2 Spoilers: What Happens In ‘Middle Ground’?
“The Good Doctor” Season 2 will see Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) faced with tough decisions regarding his career.
In “Middle Ground,” he may be in charge of overseeing Dr. Aaron Glassman’s (Richard Schiff) surgery. At first, Aaron will refuse to undergo the procedure, but Shaun will convince him that it’s necessary. When he finally agrees to go under the knife, he and Shaun realize that there are more problems ahead.
Aaron suffers from psychosis, and Shaun has a difficult time dealing with him as his patient. After all, Shaun has been diagnosed with autism, and a woman from his past will also resurface in this week’s episode.
The unnamed woman arrives at the hospital to explain herself to Shaun, but he refuses to hear her out. Dr. Claire Brown (Antonia Thomas) talks to Shaun so he could consider talking to the woman from his past. Shaun agrees, and they have an emotional conversation in episode 2.
Meanwhile, series creator David Shore previously hinted on the possibility of Aaron being killed off in Season 2.
“To be honest, people seem to die on TV way more than they die in real life. For your regular characters, it seems to be the go-to place. But Glassman’s not out of the woods yet,” he told Digital Spy.
ABC has also released the official synopsis for “Middle Ground.”
“As Shaun pushes back against Dr. Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez) in order to treat a gravely ill janitor and deal with the return of Lea (Paige Spara), Dr. Lim (Christina Chang) risks a lawsuit and her career to help a teenage girl repair the damage caused by an archaic custom. Meanwhile, Dr. Glassman exercises demanding oversight with Dr. Blaze (Lisa Edelstein) in choosing a doctor for his brain surgery,” the synopsis read.
“The Good Doctor” Season 2 also stars Hill Harper as Dr. Marcus Andrews, Tamlyn Tomita as Allegra Aoki, Fiona Gubelmann as Dr. Morgan Reznick, Will Yun Lee as Dr. Alex Park, and Necar Zadegan as Dr. Jordan Ko.
“The Good Doctor” Season 2, episode 2 will air on ABC on Monday, Oct. 1, at 10 p.m. EDT.
