‘The Good Place’ Season 1, Episode 4 Spoilers: A Sinkhole Emerges In The Neighborhood — Who’s To Blame: Eleanor Or Jianyu? [VIDEO]
Disasters continue to occur in the afterlife as Eleanor (Kristen Bell) remains in hiding in Season 1, episode 4 of “The Good Place.”
In the preview clip for next week’s episode, titled “Jason Mendoza,” a sinkhole emerges in the neighborhood during what appears to be a gathering among residents. Does Eleanor make another bad choice which causes the appearance of the sinkhole? Or is Jianyu (Manny Jacinto) the one responsible for this latest chaos?
As revealed in Episode 3, ‘Tahani Al-Jamil,’ Eleanor isn’t the only one who isn’t supposed to be in the Good Place. At the end of the episode, Eleanor found another anonymous note under her door. As instructed by the note, Eleanor went to the town square to discover who knows her secret. Shortly after arriving, Eleanor was shocked to find Jianyu waiting in the shadows.
After confessing to Jianyu that she really doesn’t belong in the Good Place, Eleanor begged him not to tell her secret to Michael (Ted Danson). “I don’t belong here,” Eleanor confessed to Jianyu. “Michael made a mistake. But I’m trying, dude. I’m really trying to be a good person, and I think I’m changing for the better. So just please , please don’t rat me out.”
It turned out, however, that Jianyu has no plans to reveal Eleanor’s secret to anyone. “Don’t worry, I won’t,” Jianyu told Eleanor. “Because I’m not supposed to be here, either. I don’t know how I got here, I have no idea what’s going on. And I’m freaking out, homie. You got to help me.”
Even though only time will tell whether Eleanor or Jianyu causes the emergence of the sinkhole, the synopsis for the episode revealed that Eleanor will be facing her “toughest test” yet in her attempt to stay in the Good Place.
Also in the upcoming episode, Michael seeks out Tahani (Jameela Jamil) to help a fellow neighbor fulfill her true purpose.
“The Good Place” Season 1, episode 4 airs on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 8:30 p.m. on NBC.
