‘The Good Place’ Sneak Peek: Jason Reveals Why He Trusts Michael

Jason thinks that he and his fellow humans should team up with Michael in the next episode of “The Good Place.”

In a sneak peek from Season 2, episode 4 of the NBC comedy, Eleanor (Kristen Bell) asks Chidi (William Jackson Harper), Tahani (Jameela Jamil) and Jason (Manny Jacinto) what their next move should be after Michael (Ted Danson) asked them to work with him.

“We team up with Michael,” Jason suggests. When Eleanor asks why they should do that, the former EDM DJ reveals that he trusts Michael simply because he wears bowties. “Once, this guy in a bowtie came up to me at the gun range in a Jacksonville bus station and said he’d give me 600 dollars if I put these weird turtles in my duffel bag and brought them to Daytona beach,” Jason shares.”[When we arrived at Daytona,]the guy paid me the 600 dollars. My point is you always trust dudes in bowties.”

While Jason thinks that his little anecdote has greatly helped them come up with a definitive decision, Eleanor obviously doesn’t think that way. In fact, at the end of the sneak peek, Eleanor ends up slapping Jason’s face after realizing how illogical his reasoning is.

In Season 2, episode 3, the humans found out for the 802nd time that they’re actually in the Bad Place. But instead of rebooting them once again, Michael presented them with an unexpected offer. “I wanna team up with you guys,” Michael told the humans, much to their surprise. “I’m in a bit of a bind, and I could use some backup. Or as Jason put it, I need a new dance crew. What do you say, new best friends?”

Michael was forced to try to connive with the humans when one of his crew members, Vicky (Tiya Sircar), started to blackmail him. Vicky ordered Michael to reboot the humans, telling him that she’s taking over the neighborhood to execute her version of the Bad Place. When Michael expressed his disapproval, Vicky handed him an envelope, containing a complete report of every mistake he has made in the neighborhood.

“[It contains] every screw-up, every reboot [you’ve made], all laid out in excruciating detail,” Vicky said. “Now, I’m sure your boss would love to hear all about how ‘Attempt #2’ is really going on. … If you don’t do what I say, you’re going down.”
