‘The Good Place’: What Would D’Arcy Carden Do With A Real-Life Janet?
“The Good Place” star D’Arcy Carden would like to have a Janet as her personal shopper.
In a recent interview with Racked, Carden said that if she was blessed with a real-life Janet of her own, she would make the sentient database help her shop.
“She’d be my personal shopper,” the 37-year-old actress said of what she’d do with a Janet. “Because shopping alone can be hard, but I also never want to put someone out and be like, ‘Will you come watch me try on dresses?’”
Carden admitted that she’s also bad at returning items she ordered online, so she’d like Janet to help with the returns. “When I order things online, I am so bad at returning them,” the “Broad City” alum said. “I’ll put something on and realize it doesn’t work — but maybe my sister will want it! Or it’ll look good if I buy a certain pair of shoes! There’s a whole back corner of my closet that’s just things with tags on that I should’ve returned months — or years! — ago. So yes, having my own Janet to shop with me — to bring me things, and help with returns — would be so
helpful. Now, where do I find her?”
Carden also told TheWrap last October that she’d like a Janet to help her see every cool concert there is. “Basically, whatever cool concert was playing, I would have her get me front row tickets and backstage passes — she would be my concert concierge,” Carden said. “I see a lot of live music in Los Angeles., and that’s kind of like my — not that it’s my vice or anything like that. But that’s the thing that I really spend money on and spend time on and to have a Janet hook me up — that would really come in handy.”
“The Good Place” returns from hiatus this week. According to the synopsis for Season 2, episode 9, titled “Leap to Faith,” Michael (Ted Danson) receives a surprise visitor while Eleanor (Kristen Bell), Chidi (William Jackson Harper), Tahani (Jameela Jamil), and Jason (Manny Jacinto) attempt to solve a riddle.
“The Good Place” airs Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. EST on NBC.
